I found your blog through a post on another site and it looks like you are taking some sort of technology in education class like I did last semester. Your video was informative, but I don't understand why they are worth thousands of dollars.
I visited an elementary class which had one last year. The kids were excited but they weren't doing anything that couldn't be done with a normal board and a projector. Do you know what they can be used for?
Hey John! To be honest, I really do not see how you found this video to be informative! :P
I think they are worth so much because they are so massive, and they really do have a bit of intricate technology inside of them.
I do know what you mean about how it seems like they don't really have much of an edge on an old-school projector. I'm going to school to be a math teacher, and it does have a few benefits for me that a projector does not have. For example, I could have the textbook up on the screen and teach directly off of it. I could work out the problems right on the textbook. That is really time efficient because in higher-level maths so much time is spent simply writing out problems. Thanks for your comment, John!
